Description: Palo santo, which means “holy wood” or “wood of the saints,” is from a sweet, fragrant tree that grows in South America. For centuries, the Incas, Shamans, medicine people and Indigenous communities in South America have used Palo Santo, a powerful tree medicine, with the intention of cleansing energy fields, healing, attracting good vibes, positive energy during meditation and praying, relax and relieve physical ailments. It has an exquisite and penetrating sweet and citric aroma, it is also worth noting its insect repellent properties.

Interesting Fact!  *To retain its special properties, the tree or branch must naturally die, then the dead tree must lay on the ground for another 3- 6 years before harvesting the wood for its “holy” properties. Palo Santo trees can live as long as 80 years and if you add another 5 years for it to dry naturally, that means it took 85 years to reach the point of using for incense!

*We are aware of the impact towards the ecosystem that logging can mean of the trees for commercial use, this is why our Palo Santo has been harvested from forest floor of fallen branches and trees that have naturally died. Our source also supports a nursery exclusively dedicated to the species for its reforestation, reproduction and study.
